Project coordination within DYNAMO

Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI), Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven, Germany

My research interests

  • Scientific background in reconstructing the climate and environment of the past by using fossil bivalve shells (called sclerochronology).
  • The shell of a bivalve functions like a book or an archive which, if you know how to read it, can tell you the water temperatures during winter and summer for the time the animal was alive.

How is my work linked to the Beagle Channel area?

  • Since 2017 I am part of DYNAMO and together with Doris Able I coordinate the project at AWI.
  • Here I help organizing our meetings, making new contacts, manage the website or help building up our observatory in every possible way.
