My research interests

Trophic ecology of marine zooplankton in coastal and oceanic environments. In the last years I’ve being also interested establishing the effect of fresh water and sediment discharge on the mortality of coastal zooplankton in estuaries, fjords and coastal Antarctic environments.

How is my work linked to the Beagle Channel area?

Thanks to the collaboration with the Argentinean, AWI, U. Oldenburg team, we were able to get the funding to purchase a FerryBox system to start continuous monitoring of the physicochemical and biological properties of the Beagle Channel and surrounding areas. I’ve being the chef scientist of two expeditions on the Beagle channel as well as scientist on the first binational (Argentinean- Chilean) cruise along the eastern Beagle Channel.
